ABOUT FIREWEED

We’re a small group of local, lady business owners making art, brewing kombucha, and running a bar who wanted to put together a market to continue building community here in Salt Lake City!

We chose Fireweed Market because we believe the fireweed flower can be a symbol for something new! This flower has always resonated with us for its resilience and beauty and seemed like a great token for the beginning of a new endeavor.

We really liked how other art markets would give back to our community’s non-profits, so we wanted to follow suit on this excellent idea! This year, 10% of sales are donated to Blue Sky Institute, a local non-profit that organizes Dirt 2 Table (educating, encouraging, and facilitating local backyard food production through free plants) and the Og-woi People’s Orchard and Garden (a community collective providing produce to people in SLC free of charge, plus SLC’s first public orchard!).

Fireweed Market is a celebration of local creativity, community, and connection—and it wouldn’t be possible without the help of our incredible volunteers. We’re looking for friendly, reliable folks to join us in making this year’s market a success! Whether you can spare an hour or a whole afternoon, there’s a role for you.
